Project description

Systemic lupus erythematosus, SLE, is a autoimmune disease affecting multiple organs. Clinical signs include fever, limping, polyarthritis, dermatitis, vomiting, polyuria and polydipsia. Treatment consists of immunosuppressive medications and usually is life-long.

 

Breeds

Novascotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

Samples from SLE affected dogs from all breeds are welcome.

 

Which samples are needed:

  • dogs that have been diagnosed with SLE
  • close relatives (parents, siblings, offspring) of the affected dogs
  • healthy dogs over 6 years of age
