After humans, dogs have the highest occurrence of different hereditary diseases. Our aim is to identify the genetic abnormalities leading to these diseases. We have launched several projects and are studying for example different neurological, ophthalmic, autoimmune and behavioral diseases and disorders in dozens of different breeds.
On these pages you can read about our ongoing research projects, the genetic background of many illnesses affecting dogs, and the canine DNA bank. You can also find out how to contribute to our research and help us create a healthier future for our dogs.
