Osteodysplasia in Brazilian Terrier
We have characterized a disease with severe skeletal abnormalities in Brazilian Terriers. The symptoms can be seen already during early puppyhood at 2-4 weeks of age. The affected puppies are not able to walk properly due to deformed legs and joints. The features include also typical craniofacial changes (round skull and short muzzle) and growth retardation. The inheritance mode is autosomal recessive.
The causative genetic defect has been identified!
