We need DNA samples for genetic studies. DNA can be obtained from saliva, cheek swabs or blood. We prefer blood for many reasons including the quality and  the quantity. Please contact your vet for blood collections and refer to the instructions below. Remember to fill out the information form for us  for each sample. Follow these instructions:

1. Click a printable form here. Fill out the form for each sample and send it with your samples to our laboratory.

2. Please collect 3-5 ml of blood in a purple topped EDTA-tube.

3. Label the tube with the following information: Dog’s registration name, registration number, breed and date.

4. Invert the tube (8-10) times to prevent clotting.

5. Ship to the address at the bottom of this page. Please let us know to expect your sample by email in advance

6. Two to three day delivery services are suitable. However, schedule the shipment so that it will NOT arrive during a weekend or holiday period

All information regarding the dog´s or owner´s names will be kept confidential. Results will be released only by the owner´s consent.
